I do agree your opinions that America is a crumbling empire, but sadly China is still far behind American in a lot of sense. Firstly, BYD's EV was able to overtake European counter-parts thanks to mostly Chinese state subsidies and funds, just as Huawei's tech developments on 5G. China's strong state is at the expense of the quality of life of the normal citizens, especially the poor, social security is basically non-existent such that consumer spending is contantly so low as most Chinese have to save up for the rainy days. On the otherhand, of course, China gained its global position avoiding bloodshed unlike the Brits and the US, but I do not agree that China could be some kind of moral empire that breaks the cycle of imperialist oppression.

Just as Marxist theorist have summarized. There could be no ethical empires, and surplus always have to be extracted from the periphery or the urban poor for any capitalist strong nations.

The left could be happy for China's rise, but we should never forget our progressive ideals of toppling imperialism itself.
